Non absorbancy makes milk messes!

I was so excited to get these after reading the description. However on my first day of using them, when I took one off to nurse my daughter, the release of pressure made milk instantly drip all over me and her. I tried a few more times. Sometime they worked okay, but they'll allow a little leaking inside the Lily pad, which makes your nipples constantly damp. Any midwife will tell you to let them airdry to decrease chances of infection. This does not allow airdrying, but keep moisture in. Then if your little one decided to wait a little longer to eat, the milk inside the Lily pad may increase until it creates pressure great enough to break the seal, then leak all over you. I believe I have used them for the last time as this happened to me yesterday, making a huge milky mess all over me and my daughter. I would rather use a reusable cloth pad that catches the milk.
The only daytime nursing pad to use

I started using LilyPadz when my first child was 4 months old. Once my milk production was stabilized, these were the only nursing pads I used. Now with my second child, I have been using the LilyPadz since birth. It is very rarely that I leak when wearing these pads. Leakage sometimes happens when I haven't nursed for a long time and am starting to get engorged. The nice thing about these pads is that small leaks typically don't make it outside of the area that the pad is adhered to until I remove the pad. With these pads, I don't have to wear a nursing bra at night and they don't slide around like the pads that fit inside the sleep bras. They are like a second skin, so no one can tell that I have a nursing pad on. All the other nursing pads would show thru my bras and look like I was padding my bra. They also work perfect for swimming, especially when I don't have padded cups in my swimsuit. By applying constant pressure to the nipple (thereby smoothing it out), milk is typically not released. The only time I recommend not using the LilyPadz is when you're engorged at the beginning of breastfeeding. I recommend using thick disposable pads at that time.
I haven't purchased any of the LilyPadz cleaning supplies. I just wash the pads with dish soap and warm water then let them air dry. I always have two pairs on hand so that I only have to wash them once a day. On average, I have been able to make them last for about 2 to 3 months per pair.
Great, but tore!

worked great, but after a week, the edges cracked and eventually tore during the process of pushing down to create seal; for the price, this shouldn't happen.
Wish I hadn't waited until my 3rd baby to get these!

WELL worth the money... Easy to use and clean without all the hassle of disposables! AND... you can go without a bra if you want! (I don't like having to sleep in one.) Have had NO leaks, whatsoever, and they have had plenty of opportunity to! When nipples are sore and sensitive, I use a tiny bit of balm Motherlove Herbal Nipple Cream (1 oz) so they don't stick TOO well. LOVE THESE!
Did not prevent leaking

I had high hopes for these pads after reading the reviews . . . but was ultimately disappointed. The pros about these pads are that they are unlike anything else out there--they go on easily, feel great, look great under clothing and are soothing on the nipples. The major con though is that I leaked right through them BADLY, and because there was nothing to absorb the liquid, I woke up with a heavily drenched shirt in the middle of the night. These may be better just for day time use or for people who aren't heavy leakers.
